A Word From the President

Welcome to the Beta Alpha Chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta website! My name is Leah Harms and I am the current Chapter President.

As the current president of Alpha Gamma Delta, I could not be more honored and humbled to serve and represent such an inspiring group of women. Our members strive to live by our international motto: “Inspire the Woman, Impact the World.” From semesters abroad in Estonia, England, and India, studying archeology in Vermont, interning at local schools, showcasing our theatre and musical talents, and just spending time with each other, Alpha Gamma Delta is a lively, busy, and progressive chapter which strives to live out our values on a daily basis with each other, on campus, and in the Lincoln community.

Alpha Gamma Delta encourages excellence and participation while also fostering an environment that promotes self-identity and diversity. We are proud of our involvement in Greek philanthropies, academic achievement, and campus and community involvement. Our latest nacho feed philanthropy was a huge success, and as a chapter we have reached Jewel Status for the eighth year. The AGD Foundation recognizes chapters who raise a certain amount of money in one fiscal year. We are also actively raising money for Relay for Life which we are always very excited to participate in.

Our goal is to provide our members with the fullest sorority experience that they can have and to empower them to become more fulfilled women. Beta Alpha Chapter members are supportive of their sisters and respect the diversity of the women in our sisterhood. We are proud to be a part of the Alpha Gamma Delta fraternity, and we know that we would not be the same women we are today without it.

To the women considering going through recruitment: it is a great opportunity to meet the incredible and inspiring women that make up Nebraska Wesleyan’s sorority community. Being a Greek takes your college experience beyond the classroom, and it is something that will change your life. I encourage you to sign-up for recruitment and see if being Greek is right for you.
